Where the Lamza's Came FromThe Lamza family came to Texas from the villiage of Lazy Pod Makytou, which is in current day Slovakia, just across the border from the Czech Republic. The area is marked by the red box on this map.
The following map is a closeup of the highlighted area. It's a little difficult to read on this graphic, but notice Lazy pod Makytou just inside the western border.
I received the following photograph from Virginia Lamza Kruse. According to her, it is a photograph of the village (forgive the quality of the photo...it's a scan of a photocopy of the photograph). The white building with the "X" is supposedly the house where the Lamza family lived.
Needless to say, I hope that there is more to come! |
